Meet the Designer
My name is Mayuko, and I am an Interior Designer and the founder of Design Esteem in Southern California. I was formally educated in interior design in Japan and the US, and my work is shaped by a global perspective built through living and traveling in countries such as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
These experiences deepened my appreciation for how different cultures shape the way people live, connect, and find comfort in their homes. This understanding guides my design philosophy today.
My approach blends Japanese design principles, intentionality, simplicity, natural materials, and harmony, with modern functionality to create holistic, meaningful interiors. I focus on designing spaces that feel warm, grounded, and deeply connected to the people who live in them.
